Why You Keep Losing the Same 5lbs Over and Over
If you've lost the same few pounds more times than you can count, first of all, you're not alone. This is one of the most common things I hear from women who come to Become Bodywise, and it's not a willpower problem. It's a plan problem.
Here's what's really going on…
You're following a diet, not building a lifestyle
Most weight loss plans are designed to get you results fast. And they work - for a while. You cut calories, you lose a few pounds, you feel good. But the plan is so restrictive that it's only ever a matter of time before real life gets in the way.
A birthday. A holiday. A stressful week at work. And suddenly you're "off plan", and the weight creeps back on.
The problem isn't you. It's that the plan was never designed to last.
You're going too hard, too fast
I see it all the time - women going all in from day one, training daily, cutting out foods they enjoy, running on willpower alone. And it works, until it doesn't.
When you drastically cut calories and exercise excessively, your body fights back. Energy drops, hunger spikes, and willpower runs out. It's not a character flaw - it's biology.
Sustainable fat loss is slower than you want it to be. But it actually sticks.
You're not eating enough protein
This one surprises a lot of people. When women cut calories, they often end up cutting protein too - and that's where things go wrong.
Protein keeps you full, helps you hold on to muscle while you lose fat, and keeps your metabolism ticking over. Without enough of it, you lose weight on paper but don't get the strong, confident feeling you were actually after.
You're relying on motivation instead of structure
Motivation is great when it's there. But it comes and goes - and basing your entire plan around it is a recipe for the start-stop cycle.
What actually keeps you consistent is structure - knowing what you're eating, having your sessions planned in your diary, and having someone to check in with when life gets busy. That's what makes the difference between losing the same 5lbs forever and actually moving forward.
You're doing it alone
This is the big one. When things get hard - and they will - having no support means there's nothing to catch you. No one to help you navigate a difficult week, no one to remind you how far you've come, no one to help you get back on track quickly when you slip up.
Accountability isn't just a nice-to-have. For most women, it's the missing piece.
So what's the answer?
It's not another diet. It's not more willpower. It's a simple, sustainable plan that fits into your life - with the right support around you to keep you moving forward even when it gets tough.
If any of this has resonated and you're ready to stop the cycle for good, I’d love to hear from you!
